Is there a refund policy?

Annual plans cancelled within 14 days of purchase are refundable (purchase price minus the non-refundable Stripe processor fee — about 2.9% + $0.30). If we made an error (incorrect billing, duplicate charge, broken feature you were promised), we refund the full purchase price. Monthly plans aren't refunded for partial months, but cancel anytime and you keep access through the end of the period you paid for. Full terms at /terms §3.1.

Who owns my data?

You do, always. Export your projects, files, clients, contracts, and invoices anytime from Settings → Account. If you cancel, you have 30 days to download everything before we permanently delete it.

How secure is my client data?

Files are stored on encrypted cloud storage with server-side encryption at rest. All traffic is HTTPS-only. Passwords are bcrypt-hashed (cost factor 12), with optional TOTP two-factor authentication. Clients access via single-use magic links — no shared passwords. Tenant isolation is enforced on every API call (every database row is tagged with an org_id and queries are scoped to it). Do my clients need to create accounts?

No. That's the whole point. Clients click a magic link in their email and they're in — no passwords, no signups, no app to install. Magic links work on iPhone Safari, Android Chrome, anywhere with a browser.

Can I import from another client portal?

Accepted Answer

Yes. CSV import for your client list (which doubles as your contact list — clients ARE your contacts in CliLancers) works today: Clients → Import CSV. We auto-detect columns from any common header format, dedupe by email on re-import, and roll back the batch if anything fails. Other entities (projects, contracts, contract templates) aren't automated yet — but on paid plans we migrate everything else for you manually, no charge, within 3 business days for Team and 5 for Solo. Can my clients use it on mobile?

Yes. The client portal is responsive — magic-link sign-in works on iPhone Safari, Android Chrome, anywhere with a browser. They can review contracts, sign with their finger, download files, and pay invoices on a phone with no app install.

Do you support multiple currencies?

Yes. Each client carries a default currency (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, etc.). Invoices snapshot the currency at issue time so historical invoices keep rendering correctly even if you change a client's default later. Stripe handles the actual payment in whichever currency you billed.

What happens if I cancel mid-project?

You keep access until the end of your billing period. Export everything (clients, projects, files, invoices) before then and your client portals keep working — magic links survive your cancellation. After 90 days post-cancellation we delete the data.
